The Staffordshire Regiment
We are The Staffordshire 3, and we are currently a community group from Tamworth that is working towards charity status.
We are raising funds for a permanent memorial that will be seated in the
castle grounds on the lower lawn. This memorial will mainly honour 3
soldiers of the 1st Bn The Staffordshire Regiment that died whilst on
operations in Iraq on the 16th of July 2005, when their vehicle was
struck by an IED (improvised explosive device).
They were 2nd Lt Richard
Shearer (Nuneaton), Pte Leon Spicer (Tamworth), Pte Phillip Hewett
(Tamworth). It will also have a role of honour of all 179 Armed Forces
personnel that died during the Iraq conflict.
10% of all sales through this virtual shop goes to the Staffordshire 3 charity.
